As part of my course we regularly have to take part in student-led workshops. This entails sitting in and attending other peoples sessions as well as creating, planning and leading our own. We then receive feedback from our peers with them sharing with us their thoughts, feelings, likes and improvements. These feedback sheets are extremely important for our development and help us to improve and build on so we can get into the habit of presenting quality and enjoyable workshops.
Due to regularly having to organise workshops my communication skills have increasingly developed as the course has gone on. I have established a strong sense of confidence in my ability to communicate. While studying I have had to devise, deliver and manage high quality learning workshops for my peers. As a result of this I am more than confident in my ability to present to my peers and facilitate in a group setting. As I progress further in this course I hope to extend my knowledge and develop my facilitation skills to include children and young people.
Below you will find some examples of these sheets for a work shop I presented for the module ‘Working Creatively with People’ last year;
